Day 2 in Bali - The Bistrot & Cafe Bali

Day 2 - Bali

We were supposed to go Bali Safari & Marine Park + Snorkeling on Day 2. But I was down with fever the previous night. So we suppose it's better for me to skip these :(

We rested through the morning, and headed out for lunch at The Bistrot.

The Bistrot is a 2-storey vintage cafe sitted at a corner, opposite the Red Carpet Champagne Bar. The cafe has vintage decor, like travel pictures, antique clocks. I felt that the entire place was so tastefully done, and for a moment, it doesn't feel like in Bali.

Until we felt that it was hot in the cafe (LOL). Though it was air-conditioned, it felt like even the fans were not even doing much work to keep the place cool.

We were seated on the ground floor because the 2nd level was smoking area.

We were quite fascinated by all the soda bottles which we don't get to see in Singapore :)

The keropok was great! In fact, I think it's the tastiest food item in the restaurant *sheepish smile*

"Welcome bread" or so they call it :)
Nice nibbles. Taste a little cheesy, sturdy crust with soft white bread.

I ordered the Deep Fried Chicken with Bintang burger, that comes along with salad and homemade fries. Okay, the salad was nice. The patty was a little oily (ya, deep fried hahaha), and the homemade fries was sloppy :(

I only ate most of the salad and the patty. The buns were slathered with too much butter.

The hubby ordered some seafood spaghetti (sorry no pics hehe), and I think it must have been the worst seafood pasta I have ever eaten. It tasted so fishy I cannot bear to make myself eat more :(

I think it's better to research on what's nice before eating here. Like what's recommended on TripAdvisor, go for brekkie or dinner (steak).

Then we moved on (disappointed with all the raves on The Bistrot) to walk down the roads on Seminyak. And we came to Cafe Bali, which we thought looks good. LOL.

It's a smaller cafe compared to The Bistrot, but looks cosy enough. It has quite a stylish bar, the rest of the cafe looks more like a family cafe :)

We ordered some sweets and they were really nice!

Meringue Lemon Tart. Tangy enough and I love the touch of the strawberry syrup.
The meringue made me feel better compared to eating buttercream haha ;p
