Day 1 in Bali - The Coffee House Seminyak, Espace Spa Bali, Naughty Nuri Warung

Day 1 - Bali

After we checked in and settled our luggage, we went out for lunch :)

Heard about this cafe - The Coffee House - in Seminyak. Their Thai food and cakes are really nice! It's a small and cozy cafe, that holds about 5 tables. We were greeted with cold towels - which is good for the really scorching weather! The staff are always smiley and polite; the owner is really friendly too.

The prices are quite reasonable, if compared to Singapore's cafe pricing. We ordered a smoothie, Tom Yum soup, sandwich set, and of course their red velvet cake

I love the Tom Yum soup so much (that I can't find any better in BKK lol). The Tom Yum soup has lesser of a "meat" flavour to the broth, but has a really sourish taste which I liked. The soup is also not thick with coconut milk, so it's easier on the stomach in that hot weather. The owner mentioned that their chef is from Thailand, so it's authentic Thai cooking.

The red velvet cake is light, yet moist enough. And I love the tangy and rich taste from the cream cheese icing. I finished almost an entire slice on my own (and it's quite big hor haha).

I We liked the cafe so much that we went back a second time, which we realised the banana cake is so much better than the red velvet :)

We also went for massage after walking around to digest our lunch, lol. We settled on Espace Spa, which is near The Coffee House. No regrets! Their massage is really good. They may not be the cheapest, but the price is considered low compared to Singapore's.

The shop space where I bought the Bali soap for 10,000 IDR (about S$1).

We went back again on the 4th day, and I realised they seem to have different service standard across the staff. Nurul did my massage the second time, and I think her service is really good! She stopped in between the massage to pass me tissue paper to blow my nose (hahaha), asked if I wanted to shower after the massage finished, which I thought was really nice gestures.

I don't think I have found any place that does massage like Espace Spa. The therapists are able to press on the stress points, and it is not really painful, yet relieving lol.

A 90 minutes tension relief full back massage costs us only about S$30+ per pax. The massage, though mentioned full back, also includes the front areas, eg. stomach, legs and shoulders.

However, just note that the massage rooms are much simpler done up, compared to the shop front. Sometimes you can hear people talking in the room next door ;p

Then we had dinner at Naughty Nuri Warung, which is famous for their ribs! We went in slightly earlier than usual dinner crowd, so we didn't need to wait for seats.

We ordered a BBQ Chicken and Ribs. Both were so yummy!! I loved the charred taste for the BBQ Chicken lol. We didn't feel full so the hubby ordered another set of homemade sausages with wedges.

The wedges are da bomb!! Even the hubby who seldom eats wedges agreed and can't stop nomming ;p

We also ordered brownies with ice cream. Not superbly good, but is a great sweet treat to end the night :)
